Guerrilla Seed Saving

Today I saw some chives that had flowered and gone to seed. Here is what the flowers look like:

And when they dry down enough to harvest seed, they look like this:

I like trying to harvest whatever seeds I can from multiple random, healthy populations of plants I find around town. That way I know that I have plenty of genetic diversity in my seed stock.  I will plant them next spring and hopefully someone else can harvest seeds from my plot, thus passing on the favor. Any leftover seeds will be passed on to others through a seed exchange.
